Pirfenex Tablet includes pirfenidone, an anti-fibrotic drug used to treat idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), which thickens and scars lung tissue, making breathing difficult. Pirfenex improves breathing and delays disease development by lowering lung scarring and edema. A progressive increase in dose from 267 mg three times a day in the first week to 534 mg in the second week and 801 mg in the third week is normal to reduce adverse effects. Pirfenex must be used with meals to avoid stomach issues. Nausea, headache, dizziness, exhaustion, and sun sensitivity are common adverse effects. To reduce photosensitivity, patients should use sunscreen and protective clothes. Pirfenidone raises liver enzymes. Hence, liver function should be monitored. Tell your doctor about any liver or renal issues before beginning therapy to alter doses. Use Pirfenex only if advised by a doctor during pregnancy or nursing. Smoking may affect pharmaceutical efficacy. Thus, patients should quit during therapy. Follow your doctor's Pirfenex instructions and report any odd symptoms or side effects immediately.
